This has been a great week for spotting bucks here at Oak Creek. The weather cooled off a little bit and we caught some really nice young bucks and a couple of really big mature bucks.

One of the highlights of the week, was a giant young 8 point with a small kicker off his G-2. He is pushing 23″ inside with two more months to go. We love big 8 points and this is one of the prettiest we have seen in a long time.

We caught a bunch of young bucks on the cams. They are going to be impressive this year, but sorry guys they need a couple more years to make the hitlist.

We also caught the huge non typical out on the edge of one of the food plots. For those of you who like the gnarly non-typicals, this is the buck for you. How many points do you think he has? What do you think he is going to score? Let us know in the comments section.

three buckswebThe young bucks in the feature photo, were up on a ridge on the back side of the main ranch. We got a quick shot and then they were gone back into the timber. These guys have at least one more year to grow as the guides thought they looked like three year olds.

Oak Creek 2 is also showing a lot of promise this year. We have seen several nice bucks while checking things out. After last season and the three monster 300 plus inch bucks that were harvested, we can’t wait to see what shows up on the trail cams as we get in there more.

Late in the afternoon Monday, we jumped three nice mature bucks on the way back to the lodge. All of them had great mass, width and stacked in tines. One even had a super drop on his left side. If the buck that is running keeps going like he is now, he could easily be in the top 20 typical Midwestern Bucks in the SCI record book.

No matter what kind of deer is your favorite, wide, tall, typical, drop tines, non-typical, your dream deer is going to be at Oak Creek this season. Our season starts in August with our limited velvet hunts and goes until the end of December. For more information on the deer or your hunt of a lifetime, give us a call anytime @ 573-943-6644.

Be sure to come back next week as we continue to update the 2016 Oak Creek Whitetail Ranch Monster Buck Tracker. We look forward to sharing the future bucks we see.

Also make sure to watch Larry Weishuhn and Blake Barnett hunt the some of the biggest bucks in the country here at Oak Creek on Trailing the Hunter’s Moon tonight, June 29th at 4:30pm central time on the Sportsman’s Channel.
