Food Plot Planting Time at Oak Creek
The burns are done, thank the Dawg Above. Anymore smoke up my nose would have killed me. Now, we get to food plot planting time at Oak Creek Whitetail Ranch.
Jacob and I put the John Deere in gear and started breaking some ground. Every season he gets a little better driving the tractor, but that’s not saying much. I don’t have thumbs and I still give him tips. The only reason I don’t do it myself is I can’t reach the pedals.
With all the rain we’ve had recently, tilling ground has been a little slow. When it’s not raining, it’s snowing. Donald has been grumping at me about bringing half the outdoors inside with me whenever I come inside, but that’s okay, Ms. Angie says the same thing to him all the time.
I’m pleased to say that the ranch will be in great shape next year. My supervision during food plot planting time should yield good food plots. If not, it’s Jacob’s fault. I told him to plant the seeds deeper, but he’s got one of those fancy degrees from a college in habitat/animal/food plantery-sciences.
This is Ace, from the tractor, letting you know what’s going on at Oak Creek.
